In 2025, a new chapter begins in Norton, Massachusetts, with the launch of FARMARIE—a small-scale, first-generation family farm rooted in passion, purpose, and perseverance.
Farmer Chris Goncalves, an engineer by degree but a farmer at heart, has spent the past three years cultivating his own food on a modest quarter-acre lot and even inside his home. His love for growing was contagious. Farmer Cynthia, his mother and a seasoned business manager, joined in with her own specialty: growing vibrant microgreens and flavorful oyster mushrooms for the past two years.
Together, this mother-and-son duo saw potential in a former horse farm in Norton—a place with history and heart. They knew this land could serve as the perfect place to plant new seeds, both literally and figuratively. Because every farm needs a beginning—but not an end.
